Schwerin (dpa/mv) – A drunk driver had an accident in Schwerin on Thursday morning and drove on with the badly damaged car. Witnesses became aware of the man and alerted the police, officials in Schwerin said on Thursday. When the police found him, the officers found that the 57-year-old was slightly injured and heavily intoxicated. A breath alcohol measurement showed a value of 3.61 per thousand.
According to initial findings, the man drove into a crash barrier on the B 321 in the Schwerin-South area, left the scene of the accident without permission and caused property damage of around 10,000 euros. The slightly injured man was taken to a hospital. The police withheld the driver’s license and filed a criminal complaint.
