Wernigerode (dpa/sa) – Paintings on canvas, pastel works or drawings with charcoal: Works from the “Malwerk” inclusion project can be seen in the coming weeks in the foyer of the paper factory of the Harz University of Applied Sciences in Wernigerode. After the opening of the “Colors of Joy” exhibition on Thursday, the show can be visited until the end of April. It was created in cooperation with the Neinstedt Evangelical Foundation, which primarily looks after people with disabilities and the mentally ill.
According to the university, there is a painting project for people with intellectual disabilities. Students from the Harz University of Applied Sciences come together with them every Thursday to paint and design. The artistic director of the project is the freelance painter, draftsman and poet Korvin Reich. The exhibited works are characterized in a special way by the different characters of the artists – they are formal, pictorial or very abstract, it was said. Everyday events and experiences are regarded as motives and source of ideas.
