France is going through a period of unprecedented winter drought. The low rainfall, combined with a particularly dry summer, did not allow the water tables to regenerate sufficiently. This is why some departments had to submit to water restrictions. Faced with this situation, the government has planned to present a “Water Plan” in March, which should in particular encourage the French to practice certain gestures to limit their consumption, reports TF1 Info.
If this data is already entered on the water bill, this simulation nevertheless makes it possible to realize the impact of our daily actions to save this resource. Hygiene and cleaning account for a very large majority of daily water consumption, around 93%. The baths remain one of the biggest expenses. Depending on the simulator, they require between 120 and 200 liters of water for each use. For comparison, that’s four or even five showers.
