Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – With the special exhibition “Escape from the World and Modernity”, the Wiesbaden Museum is presenting works by the Art Nouveau artist Oskar Zwintscher. Around 80 exhibits can be seen from March 3 to July 23, such as sculptures, ceramics, poster art, drawings and almost 60 paintings, as the museum announced on Wednesday. “The focus is on the painter’s symbolist portrait works, but also depictions of landscapes in the manner of Art Nouveau or examples of applied art.”
Zwintscher grew up in Leipzig, studied there and in Dresden, then worked freelance in Meißen and taught in Dresden from 1903. The first station of the exhibition was in the Albertinum in Dresden. The museum announced that Wiesbaden is now showing the show with its own curatorial approach.
