Schwerin (dpa / mv) – Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig received the volleyball women of SSC Palmberg Schwerin after winning the German Cup. “I’m proud, the entire state government is proud of the players, the coach, the supervisors, the entire team,” said the SPD politician at the meeting with the players on Tuesday in the State Chancellery in Schwerin.
According to Schwesig, the club is an “institution of the state capital” and not only one of the best teams in the north-eastern state, “but also one of the most successful volleyball clubs in Germany”.
The day before, Schwesig spoke of a “success story for the club, the city and also for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The SSC is an ambassador for our country and a beacon that shines far beyond our borders.”
