Münster (dpa / lnw) – A turning maneuver undertaken by an 87-year-old driver led to an accident near Münster, including the interruption of rail traffic. The man spontaneously tried to change direction with his car on Sunday morning on a road between Münster and Telgte, the police said. The car collided with the vehicle of a 32-year-old who tried in vain to avoid a collision. The 87-year-old’s car then only came to a standstill on the tracks of the parallel railway line between Münster and Warendorf.
According to the police, the 87-year-old suffered a laceration on his head in the accident. Rail traffic between Münster and Warendorf had to be interrupted for almost two hours.
