Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The inflation rate in Baden-Württemberg rose again in January. Consumers had to pay 8.5 percent more for goods and services than in January last year, the State Statistical Office announced on Wednesday. In December 2022, the price increase had fallen to 7.9 percent. The consumer price index rose 0.8 percent in January compared to December.
According to a statement from the State Statistical Office, the main drivers of inflation were food and energy costs. Rising inflation rates mean that consumers can afford less and less for the same money.
