“The unions have won the battle of public opinion” in their opposition to the pension reform, recognized Tuesday Renaud Muselier, the president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, who joined the party of Emmanuel Macron .

“Today, the unions have won the battle for public opinion because they have shown a certain responsibility, in relation to Parliament,” he declared on Public Senate.

And for him, this battle has been lost “from the moment when if you ask a question to the person who is in favor of pension reform, he is absolutely incapable of explaining to you why, how and what is inside”, added the president of Paca.

He targets in particular the National Assembly, which has been “below everything” and “in particular the Nupes”, especially since for him “the only thing that matters in public opinion is the 64 years old, and there we have never been there”.

Bouncing back from Emmanuel Macron’s remarks on Tuesday at dawn at Rungis, Renaud Muselier felt “that common sense is that we live longer and better”, so “we cannot be the only ones in Europe to 62, while everyone else is 65 and some countries like the US 71.”

“We had to extend a little, but probably differently,” he concluded.

Tuesday morning, the President of the Republic had relied on the “common sense” of the French and had reiterated that “we must work a little longer”, defending the postponement from 62 to 64 years of the age of departure, in the name of defending a system which is a “treasure” and constitutes “the heritage of those who have none”.
