Biberach (dpa / lsw) – A 22-year-old was hit by a regional train between Biberach and Gengenbach (Ortenaukreis) late on Saturday evening and was critically injured. According to initial findings, the drunk was traveling between the tracks on the double-track route of the Black Forest Railway when the train coming from Biberach hit him. So far it was unclear why he was in the middle of the tracks. The train driver immediately initiated emergency braking when he saw the man, but was no longer able to prevent the collision. A rescue helicopter brought the 22-year-old to a clinic. The route was closed for around two hours. There were train delays.
