Borken (dpa/lhe) – A fire in a pergola in the Arnsbach district of Borken caused property damage of more than 150,000 euros early on Sunday morning. As the police reported on Sunday, local residents had alerted the police after being woken up by a loud bang. When the fire brigade arrived, the pergola of a residential building was already fully engulfed in flames. The facade and windows of the house were damaged in the fire, and the fire brigade also discovered embers in the ceilings. The house was said to be uninhabitable until further notice. The house next door was also damaged by the heat. Nobody got hurt. No information has yet been given about the cause of the fire.
