Munich (dpa / lby) – After the big Champions League evening in Paris, FC Bayern Munich will be back in the Bundesliga on Saturday (3.30 p.m.) after a short rest. The aim of coach Julian Nagelsmann is to maintain the lead in the league classic at Borussia Mönchengladbach with his team. In the recent past, however, Borussia has proven to be a kind of Munich feared opponent.

“Last year we didn’t play well against Gladbach. One reason is that you keep talking about how difficult it is there,” said Nagelsmann. He therefore issued the slogan internally: “Also there san mia mia.” So his team should appear very self-confident, similar to the 1-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain last Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League.

Yann Sommer is facing a special afternoon. The Swiss national goalkeeper was signed by Bayern a month ago as a replacement for the injured captain Manuel Neuer from Gladbach. Now it’s up to Sommer to quickly return to his former place of work. “Of course it’s going to be really strange. I know this team and this club inside out. I was there for eight and a half years. It will be a special moment to come to Borussia Park as a guest – as an opponent,” said Sommer.
