Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – A defective signal at Stuttgart Central Station slowed down S-Bahn traffic in and around the state capital of Baden-Württemberg on Friday afternoon. On all lines, passengers would have to expect long delays and cancellations, said the Stuttgart S-Bahn via the short message service Twitter. DB Netz technicians tried to fix the defect.

According to the company, lines S1 and S2 only run every half hour, trains on the S3 only between Backnang and Bad Cannstatt. The S-Bahn line S4 started out of town (direction Marbach/Backnang) only in Feuerbach, heading into town they only went to the Schwabstraße stop. The S5 ended in Feuerbach towards the city centre, while the S-Bahn trains towards Bietigheim started at Schwabstraße. The S-Bahn lines S6 and S60 only operated between Weil der Stadt/Böblingen and Zuffenhausen. There, travelers should change to the S4 or S5, it said.
