Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Athletes in the Mansfeld-Südharz district can take warm showers in gyms again. District Administrator André Schröder (CDU) announced on Thursday that this was fully possible again in the halls used by sports clubs. The halls were gradually reconnected to the hot water supply. Prior to this, controls were carried out in accordance with the Drinking Water Ordinance in order to rule out contamination with legionella.
In order to save energy, the district recently used an economy mode in the sports halls. “Of course, our sports clubs are still called upon to use electricity and water sparingly. At the same time, the district is continuing to contribute to achieving the savings targets with reduced temperatures and lower lighting levels in the sports halls,” said Schröder.
