Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The Verdi and Komba unions are continuing their wave of warning strikes in the collective bargaining battle with municipal employers. Public transport is once again the focus this Tuesday. Verdi has called for warning strikes in local transport in Aachen, Bonn, Cologne, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Essen and Oberhausen.

In addition, the city administrations in Münster, Bocholt, Ahlen and Wuppertal are to be struck. Clinic staff in Lengerich and Herford, for example, should also join the walkout.

In the current collective bargaining round, Verdi is demanding 10.5 percent more income, but at least 500 euros more for the 640,000 employees in North Rhine-Westphalia. Municipal employers in North Rhine-Westphalia reject this as economically unmanageable.

The second round of collective bargaining is scheduled for February 22nd and 23rd in Potsdam. There had already been warning strikes in local transport, in daycare centers or in waste disposal companies in NRW at the end of last week.
