Bernburg (dpa/sa) – The Salzland district has banned the sale of poultry products in market wagons. The reason is to protect against the spread of avian influenza. The disease had been officially detected in a breeding stock in Biendorf, as a spokesman for the district announced on Monday. Avian influenza is a viral disease that is highly contagious to domestic poultry. To protect against infection, the district also banned poultry exhibitions.
