Bietigheim-Bissingen (dpa/lsw) – Simon Boch has won the Bietigheim New Year’s Eve Run for the fifth time. The runner from LG Telis Finanz Regensburg completed the course, which was shortened to 10.75 kilometers due to construction work, in a time of 31:45 minutes on Saturday. The podium at the 40th edition, in which 2573 participants started, was completed by Boch’s club colleague Adane Wuletaw Belete, who was still in the lead after the first lap, and Florian Roeser (TV Konstanz). As the fastest woman, the German 10,000 meter champion Alina Reh from SSC Berlin crossed the finish line in a time of 34:59 minutes.
The distance was originally supposed to be 11.1 kilometers. The last two editions did not take place due to the corona pandemic.
