Cologne (dpa / lnw) – A woman is said to have pushed a 27-year-old into the Rhine in Cologne. The 30-year-old is accused of attempted homicide, the police said on Tuesday. She was arrested the night before near the Rhine.

According to initial findings, the woman was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, according to the police – the same applies to the man who accompanied her. The 27-year-old was able to hold on to an anchor chain until the rescue workers arrived. After all, he was pulled out of the water with life-threatening hypothermia. The reason for the alleged act is still being determined.

The police are now primarily looking for a witness who tried to rescue and was said to have been attacked by the woman.
