The mayor of Ourense, Gonzalo Pérez-Jácome, denounced an attack this Saturday by the editor of the newspaper La Región, Óscar Outeiriño.

The events, as stated in a statement issued by the City Council, took place late on Saturday in the vicinity of the Ourense Auditorium, where the Robert Plant concert was being held. There, Jácome claims, the newspaper editor punched him.

According to the information published in the digital edition of La Región, the altercation occurred when members of the mayor’s team began to record the editor and others who accompanied him “in a provocative and frontal manner.” “Although he was asked to stop recording on several occasions, he ignored it,” they say.

The Ourense newspaper also points out that Outeiriño was arrested and taken to police stations, although the National Police, consulted by Europa Press, has not verified this data at the moment.
