Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the corona incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia as 356.3 on Friday. On Thursday, the number of new infections within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants was 342.6. On Friday a week ago it was 318.0. On Friday, NRW was still above the national average, for Germany the RKI gave an incidence of 258.5.

In NRW, 13,866 confirmed new infections and 63 deaths related to the corona virus were added within 24 hours.

However, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
