Hoyerswerda (dpa/sn) – The location of the Miners’ Union Bahn-See in Hoyerswerda will be increased from 5 to 40 jobs. The Federal Ministry of Labor gave a corresponding funding commitment to Saxony’s Labor Minister Martin Dulig (SPD) on Friday. The two ministries, together with the Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs, announced that the expansion of pension insurance was part of the settlement of jobs in the coal regions. Around 200 jobs are to be created at the Knappschaft sites in Hoyerswerda and Cottbus by the end of 2023.
Social Affairs Minister Petra Köpping (SPD) explained that the Hoyerswerda area is one of the coal regions that are badly affected by structural change. Therefore, the settlement and strengthening of federal authorities is important. “Every additional, well-paid job is important for Lusatia,” says Köpping.
