What a football fairy tale so close to Christmas: quarterback Brock Purdy benefits from his San Francisco 49ers’ bad luck with injuries – and uses his chance in an impressive way. His teammates are ecstatic and are already singing Purdy anthems.

The San Francisco 49ers won their division in the NFL and qualified for the playoffs. The 49ers got a 21:13 at the Seattle Seahawks and after the tenth win three games before the end of the main round they can no longer be pushed out of first place. The second-ranked Seahawks have seven wins and seven losses.

NFL rookie Brock Purdy cleaned again as quarterback and had two touchdown passes for the 49ers, who, despite a few injured players, are being considered a serious contender for the Super Bowl. “He’s such a smart player. I’m proud of him and very happy for him,” said 49ers defenseman Nick Bosa. Tight end Georg Kittle also had a large part in the victory with two caught touchdown passes. Christian McCaffrey contributed a one-run touchdown.

Purdy made his starting XI debut for the 49ers last week in a win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by superstar Tom Brady. He was drafted last and traditionally has the nickname “Mr. Irrelevant”. He made his debut for the 49ers two weeks ago after Jimmy Garoppolo was injured. Trey Lance was injured early in the season.

In April, the San Francisco 49ers selected Purdy at the very end, as number 262, when distributing talent. He was the last of nine quarterbacks to be drafted. “He’s important to us,” said John Lynch at the time, and now the general manager is being rewarded for his good grip.
