Erfurt (dpa/th) – In Thuringia, 4099 new apartments were approved in the first ten months of this year. As the State Office for Statistics announced on Thursday, this is 967 more apartments than in the same period last year. The highest number of permits were in Erfurt (824 new apartments) and the fewest in the district of Hildburghausen (53 apartments).

According to the statisticians, there are 666 apartments in existing residential buildings in addition to the 4099 new apartments. Of the 4,099 apartments, 38.8 percent are detached and semi-detached houses and 51.5 percent are apartments in multi-storey buildings. The rest are dormitory places, for example for students, senior citizens and refugees, it said.
