After learning of the death of the singer María Jiménez this Thursday morning, La Sexta has revealed that this Sunday it will premiere the first part of a documentary series about the artist in which she herself has participated.
“We had been working on a two-part documentary series about and with María Jiménez for a long time. It is inspiring to see how she faced the disease and how she faced life. On Sunday at 9:30 p.m. we will premiere the first part, and the second one on the following Sunday,” explained Atresmedia Content Director José Antonio Antón, taking advantage of the presentation of “Más Vale Sábado” within the framework of FesTVal.
For his part, the director of La Sexta, César González Antón, pointed out that it reminded him of the documentary that Jordi Évole made with Pau Donés. “It has a level of intimacy and depth, of opening the whole heart. It will be a tribute, which it deserves because it is the greatest,” he explained.
The singer went through several personal and health problems, including facing breast cancer and colon cancer, which was diagnosed three years ago.
