In order to curb energy costs, Europa-Park wants to build a large photovoltaic system at a cost of millions. Founder Roland Mack now wants to comment on the details.

Rust (dpa / lsw) – Germany’s largest amusement park, the Europa-Park in Rust in the Ortenau district, wants to present its planned photovoltaic project on Wednesday (09.40 a.m.). Founder and shareholder Roland Mack had already announced that construction of the multi-million dollar facility could begin soon. The park wants to become less dependent on conventional energy sources and reduce emissions of climate-damaging CO2.

Like many other companies, the family business is struggling with the increased energy costs. Admission prices are therefore expected to increase in the coming year. Regardless of the crisis, the leisure facility is expecting around six million visitors in the current season – that would be a new record.
