Hofheim (dpa / lby) – A 35-year-old is said to be responsible for the fire in a tractor and a garage in a residential building in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge. He was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and serious arson, police and prosecutors said on Monday.
The man is said to have started the fire in the garage with living quarters on Saturday morning. The 35-year-old came from the family environment of the residents of the house, it said. He was arrested two hours after the fire. As a result of the fire, he also accepted possible damage and even the death of the residents, at least with approval.
Nobody was injured in the fire. The fire brigade was able to prevent the flames from spreading to the living quarters. The police estimated the damage at around 30,000 euros.
