Erfurt (dpa/th) – In response to the large number of refugees still arriving, the Thuringian Ministry of Migration is planning an additional large branch of the state’s initial reception facility. The goal is an “apartment-like facility like in Suhl,” said Migration Minister Dirk Adams (Greens) of the German Press Agency. “I want to search and find something like that.” Overall, the country wants to reserve up to around 2,500 places in the initial refugee reception itself. So far there are about 1400 places in Suhl. There had been riots in the fully occupied facility in the past few days.

Suhl branches in Hermsdorf and Erfurt are already planned. According to Adams, however, these two projects are “more of an emergency shelter.”
