Suhl (dpa/th) – After several physical altercations in the initial reception center for refugees in Suhl, the police temporarily took three people into custody. First, a violent argument between two men on Thursday night led to a larger police operation, the police said. According to initial findings by investigators, the two men hit each other. Police officers tried to settle the dispute on Thursday night, with “tumultuous scenes” developing, according to the police.

The police also spoke of “solidarization effects”. Accordingly, there was an attack on a police officer who was repelled with pepper spray.

Fire alarms were triggered in two houses of the accommodation, so that the buildings had to be evacuated. Within the group of about 100 people waiting in front of the house, there were further physical arguments. According to the police, the situation was brought under control with support forces. Three men were taken into custody. After it was clear that there was no fire in the accommodation, the residents were able to return to their rooms.
