The Ukrainian Air Force said on Sunday it shot down 22 Russian drones in the Odessa region in the south of the country. “On the night of September 3, 2023, the Russian occupiers launched several waves of Shahed-136/131 drone attacks from the south and southeast,” the Ukrainian Air Force wrote on Telegram, adding that 22 drones had been destroyed out of a total of 25 launched.
After the end, in July, of the agreement which allowed Ukraine to export its cereals safely via the Black Sea, Russia increased its attacks against the regions of Odessa and Mykolaiv, in the south of the Ukraine, where there are ports and other crucial infrastructure for this trade.
In August, a first cargo ship passed through the Black Sea reached Istanbul, Turkey, despite Russian obstruction. And on Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said two new ships had passed through his country’s “temporary grain corridor in the Black Sea”.
