Memmelsdorf (dpa / lby) – In a house fire in Upper Franconia, a woman jumped out of a window and was seriously injured. The 54-year-old was only able to save herself from smoke and flames in the fire in an apartment building in Memmelsdorf (Bamberg district) by jumping from the first floor, the police said on Monday. The woman was taken to a hospital on Sunday with serious injuries. The neighboring building and some vehicles parked nearby were damaged by the fire. The police estimated the damage to be in the six-figure range. The Kripo Bamberg determined on Monday the cause of the fire.
