Marbach (dpa / lsw) – Because serious deficiencies in the keeping of cattle were found on a farmer in Marbach, the stock has been dissolved. Most of the animals were sold, as the Ludwigsburg district office announced on Friday. The official veterinarian complained about some serious deficiencies during inspections.

Among other things, there was an insufficient water supply, a lack of dry lying areas, insufficient manure removal, damaged furnishings and a lack of veterinary treatment for sick animals.

Since the farmer did not remedy the deficiencies, the authorities ordered the cattle population to be liquidated. A ban on keeping cattle was also imposed on him. In total the farm had 28 cows, 3 calves and 7 bulls.

Two heavily pregnant cows and one cow undergoing veterinary treatment remain in the farmer’s stock until they are transportable. “Until these animals are handed over, the company will continue to be closely monitored by the official veterinarians,” said the district office.
