The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, attended this Friday the Cala Mijas international indie music festival, which in its second edition hosts more than 70 international and national bands and artists.

“Amazing atmosphere and good music at the Caja Mijas Festival. Very proud of the cultural power of Spain. We are a country with enormous musical talent and the first world tourist destination for music festivals”, Sánchez has published on his official X profile , along with several photos with some artists and accompanied by his wife, Begoña Gómez.

As reported by the PSOE in a statement, with his attendance at Cala Mijas Sánchez wanted to support the cultural and economic impulse produced by the organization of festivals in our country.

The general secretary of the PSOE has stated on numerous occasions that he is a great follower of Spanish indie music groups, some of which are part of this year’s lineup at the Mijas festival, organized by the Mijas City Council and the company Last Tour.

Tonight, specifically, groups such as Cariño, Lori Meyers, The Strokes, Underworld, M83 and Delaporte, among other notable bands, were scheduled to perform.

Currently, Spain is the leading tourist destination for music festivals worldwide, with 900 held each year, including classical music series. All of them generate approximately 500 million euros annually and the creation of 300,000 permanent and temporary jobs, as highlighted by the PSOE.
