Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – After a dangerous attack with a plastic fork in Frankfurt’s main train station, a 48-year-old woman was permanently admitted to the psychiatric ward by the Frankfurt Regional Court. Without appropriate treatment, the accused poses a permanent, significant risk to the general public, it said on Wednesday. Prosecutors and defense voted in the same direction. However, the decision is not yet final.

In March of this year, the woman approached a passer-by on the side platform who was on the phone. She stabbed the victim in the head with the plastic fork from behind, causing multiple lacerations. The injured woman has been struggling with mental health problems ever since. The perpetrator stated that she felt threatened by radiation from her mobile phone. In their verdict, the judges followed the relevant expertise of a psychiatric expert.
