Halle (dpa/sa) – In the 2021/22 school year, 17,826 students left the general education schools in the state. That was a total of 645 more (plus 3.8 percent) than in the previous year, said the State Statistical Office in Halle on Wednesday. Almost half (8883) had an intermediate degree in their pocket, i.e. a simple or extended secondary school certificate or the school part of the advanced technical college entrance qualification.
According to the information, 4,983 school leavers had passed the Abitur, and 1,890 the Hauptschule certificate. According to statistics, 1,200 students left school in the past school year without any qualifications. 558 graduated from a school for the learning disabled and 312 from a school for the mentally disabled, it said.
