Krefeld (dpa/lnw) – During a special operation against illegal gambling and drug-related crime, the police in Krefeld searched a total of 19 properties on Wednesday. Among other things, there were operations in shisha bars, betting shops and various restaurants, especially in the southern city center, the police said on Thursday. The extensive measures were supported by forces from customs, the municipal security service, the immigration office, the trade office and the federal police.
A man was arrested by officials during an attempt to escape and provisionally arrested. The suspect had several sales units of marijuana and cash in typical denominations, it said. In addition, a woman who was illegally staying in Germany was arrested during the raid.
