Demmin (dpa/mv) – The Demmin Hospital (Mecklenburg Lake District) is still waiting for reliable information on future energy costs. As the company announced on Thursday, there is no planning security for 2023. According to previous calculations, the electricity and gas costs would increase from 660,000 euros a year to around 1.5 million euros a year. Despite all efforts to ensure careful and efficient use of energy, it is still unclear how these additional costs can be absorbed.
The district hospital with around 200 beds and 430 employees is an important employer in the north of the Mecklenburg Lake District district and has just been re-certified by experts for its energy management. “We are happy about the successful recertification, but unfortunately we are still up in the air in terms of economic planning with rising energy and inflation costs,” criticized Managing Director Kai Firneisen. In the wake of the electricity and gas price brakes, however, you should have known long ago what to expect in order to plan reliably.
In addition to the Ribnitz-Damgarten Hospital (West Pomerania-Rügen) and the Südstadt Clinic in Rostock, the clinic is the third municipal clinic in the northeast.
