Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – More than two thirds of households with children and young people in North Rhine-Westphalia have at least one game console. The proportion was 68 percent at the beginning of 2022, as announced by the State Statistical Office IT.NRW on Thursday.
It’s not just families with children who like to gamble. According to the statistics office, 18.5 percent of households without children also had a console in 2022. Ten years ago it was eleven percent.
The proportion of households with game consoles has increased steadily in recent years. In 2016, 26.5 percent of households – with or without children – in North Rhine-Westphalia had a console. In 2021 it was 34.6 percent, the proportion has now increased to 35.3 percent in 2022.
