Straubing (dpa / lby) – The ice hockey professionals of the Straubing Tigers were eliminated in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Coach Tom Pokel’s team lost the second leg to Swedish club Frölunda Göteborg 3-2 (1-1, 1-1, 0-1) on Tuesday and also lost the first leg last week by a clear 4-0.
In front of 4480 spectators in the stadium at the powder tower, the Straubinger miracle did not happen. Brandon Manning (16th) and Marcel Brandt (29th) scored for the hosts. Ryan Lasch (14th), Patrik Carlsson (38th) and Frederik Dichow (57th) scored the guest goals.
