The Bayern block is not an option in the opening game of the German national soccer team in the World Cup in Qatar. Because Leroy Sané is out with knee problems. National coach Hansi Flick has to reschedule his starting eleven for the game against Japan.

The German national soccer team has to start the World Cup in Qatar without offensive player Leroy Sané from FC Bayern Munich. The candidate for the starting lineup is out for the opening game on Wednesday (2 p.m. / ARD, MagentaTV and in the ntv.de live ticker) in Doha against Japan with problems in his right knee, as the DFB announced. At the final training this Tuesday at the training center in Al-Shamal, all the other 25 players were there. For the media, however, only the warm-up phase of the first 15 minutes was visible.

National coach Hansi Flick no longer has the option in the first group game to rely entirely on the in-form Bayern block. The 26-year-old Sané was expected on the offensive. It is questionable whether Flick will rely on World Cup veteran Thomas Müller right at the start of the tournament after his long break from competition.

In midfield it is also exciting whether Flick decides for ?lkay Gündo?an from Manchester City or Bayern player Leon Goretzka as a sideman for Munich’s Joshua Kimmich. After an injury break, defender Antonio Rüdiger is fit and ready to play for the German team again in time for the start of the World Cup.

After training and lunch, the four-time world champion makes his way to Qatar’s capital, Doha, where captain Manuel Neuer and Co. will spend the night before the game at the five-star Hotel Dusit. On Tuesday evening, Flick and Joshua Kimmich will take part in the final press conference.
