Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – With her statement, she made it possible to arrest a drug dealer in England: A 22-year-old drug courier therefore received a penalty discount in Frankfurt. The district court sentenced her to three years and ten months in prison for smuggling around six kilograms of cocaine – the judgment became final on Monday (AZ 5730 Js 234892/22).
The woman had traveled from Brazil to Frankfurt in July of this year, where the drug, pressed into plates, was found in her luggage. Some of it was found in gymnastic belts, but it was also sewn into pillows and bedding. The people behind her had promised her 5,000 euros for the onward transport to Scotland. The woman who confessed said in court that she wanted to use the money to set up her own nail salon.
Because of her help in the investigation, her sentence was significantly reduced under the so-called leniency program. The public prosecutor’s office had also pleaded in this sense.
