Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – At the start of the week there was fresh snow in some higher places in the southwest. For example, there was a thin white layer in Furtwangen in the Black Forest, but also near Donnstetten in the Swabian Alb on Monday morning. However, there were largely no slippery accidents. The police chiefs in the southwest reported a calm situation in the morning.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the light snowfall should last on Monday up to a height of around 800 meters and ensure a layer of snow one to five centimeters thick. According to the DWD, rain is expected for the lower elevations. It will remain windy with strong gusts of up to 55 kilometers per hour. Stormy gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour are also possible in the mountains.

The wintry weather persists at higher altitudes. According to the weather experts, there should be frost over 1000 meters in the coming night and again one to three centimeters of fresh snow.
