Classic vocational training has been in crisis for years. In Baden-Württemberg, important players therefore regularly come together for top-level talks. Now there are new numbers.

Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) – Training is becoming less and less attractive to young people, companies are groaning under the shortage of skilled workers – against this background, a top-level discussion on the training situation in the state will take place in Stuttgart on Monday. Economics Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut (CDU) wants, among other things, to present new figures on the training market with the head of the regional directorate of the employment agency, Christian Rauch (12.00 p.m.). In addition, the “training ambassador” initiative will be discussed, in which trainees give pupils an insight into an apprenticeship.

According to the regional directorate of the Employment Agency, 29,979 vacant training places were still registered in August 2022, shortly before the start of the training year. These contrasted with 9017 people who were not cared for, i.e. still searching.
