Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – renewed criticism of the allocation of funds for electromobility by Transport Minister Winfried Hermann (Greens): The FDP is specifically bothered by a subsidy of more than 500,000 euros to the Federal Association of German Driving School Companies (BDFU), which among other things wants to develop further training concepts for e-mobility at driving schools, as reported by the “Stuttgarter Zeitung” and “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”. It is “not obvious why general teaching materials have to be developed with taxpayers’ money,” said Friedrich Haag, spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group for individual mobility, to the two newspapers.

According to the newspapers, the Baden-Württemberg Driving Instructors Association (FLVBW), which is significantly larger than the BDFU, also stated that e-mobility has been an essential part of the training for five years. A well-established association is “able to finance such activities itself”.

Hermann, on the other hand, justifies the subsidies by saying that driving instructors are important multipliers for electromobility.

The Court of Auditors recently accused the Minister of Transport of launching en masse funding programs to promote electromobility without knowing exactly what they were supposed to achieve. Of the 17 programs, only 4 really worked. Effort and income would have been disproportionate. According to the Court of Auditors, a large part of the programs could have been dispensed with.
