Euskirchen (dpa / lnw) – After bacterial contamination, there has been a ban on boiling drinking water in Dahlem and Schmidtheim (Euskirchen district) since Friday evening. The contamination was the result of an “accident”, according to the Oleftal water association on Friday evening. However, the control center of the Euskirchen district did not announce what exactly it was about. The WDR had previously reported. According to the water supply association, the water pollution was discovered during a routine test at the Dahlem waterworks. The waterworks had already been taken off the grid – the supply had been switched. For protection reasons, the drinking water is being chlorinated, it said. It was initially unclear how long the boil-off requirement would continue.
