Nürtingen (dpa / lsw) – A motorcyclist drove through several red lights and through an emergency lane to escape from the police. According to their own statements, the officials broke off the pursuit on Friday so as not to endanger anyone. The officials wanted to check the driver in Nürtingen (Esslingen district) because he was driving much too fast on Thursday evening. He ignored the police loudspeaker announcements, drove past a traffic island on the left and finally through the emergency lane that other drivers had formed because of the approaching police car. The motorcyclist fled towards the freeway.
