Zwickau (dpa/sn) – In the Zwickau Volkswagen plant, 7,100 cars rolled off the assembly line from November 7th to 11th – more than ever in one week since 1990. The company announced on Friday. The previous record of the location comes from the years 2015/2016 with 6800 vehicles within a week.

The plant has been completely converted to electric cars, and six models are produced by Volkswagen, Audi and Cupra. Since the market launch of the battery-electric VW ID, 500,000 of these vehicles have been delivered worldwide – two thirds of them came from Zwickau production, it said.
