Gummersbach (dpa / lnw) – Handball Bundesliga club VfL Gummersbach has to do without Nemanja Zelenovic for about five months. The Serbian backcourt player underwent surgery in Stuttgart on Tuesday. “The aim was to do a diagnostic arthroscopy, i.e. to check during the procedure whether there was a capsule injury. In Nemanja’s case, an injury to the capsule on the upper arm was found, which was immediately treated surgically,” said VfL team doctor Jochen Viebahn. The operation was successful, after his return the 32-year-old could start physiotherapy again. In addition, head coach Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson has to do without other injured players.
