Lübs (dpa / mv) – After an apartment fire, an apartment building in Lübs near Ueckermünde (Western Pomerania-Greifswald) is uninhabitable for the time being. A police spokesman said the fire broke out in the building early Thursday morning. All residents had to leave their homes and found shelter in an emergency shelter in the village. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the extent of the damage is still unclear. A witness stated that the fire is said to have started from an electrically operated night storage heater. The public prosecutor’s office decides whether a fire investigator should investigate the cause of the fire more closely. Nobody got hurt.
