Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – The Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has received funding of 1.24 million euros for the integration and support of Ukrainian students and scientists. As the university announced on Tuesday, the country is using the funds to support the language preparation for a course of study and the supervision and connection of Ukrainian scientists. With the help of the funds, new German teachers from Ukraine and other countries have already been hired. In addition, Ukrainian students and visiting scholars received grants.

According to the university, 84 Ukrainian refugees are enrolled at the university this winter semester. In addition, more than 100 other people are currently preparing for a degree.
