Atakan Karazor is at large again. He was allowed to leave the prison in Ibiza, where he had been in custody for more than six weeks, on bail of 50,000 euros. And there’s more: The VfB Stuttgart professional is even allowed to leave Spain. That was decided by the first chamber of the district court of the Balearic Islands. Accordingly, Karazor must remain available to the authorities and is no longer allowed to approach the alleged victim.
A spokesman for VfB told the “Bild”: “That also corresponds to our knowledge. So far there has been no personal contact with the player. As soon as this is done, we will discuss how to proceed.”
The 25-year-old was initially arrested on suspicion of rape during his vacation in Spain. He and a friend met two women in a nightclub in early June.
Afterwards they had sex in a villa near Sant Josep – “consensually”, as Karazor asserts. The alleged 18-year-old victim spoke of being raped. It is now being investigated for sexual assault.
The woman had been examined in a hospital after the alleged crime and reported it to the police. The two Germans were then arrested and a judge ordered them to be held in custody. The possibility of a release on bail was initially rejected. Also for Karazor’s companions there is now a ban on approaching.
