Police in Philadelphia stated that a 12-year-old boy was accused of beating to death a 70 year-old man during a carjacking.
Officers responded to calls at Teesdale Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Dec. 2. They found Chung Yan Chin, the victim, unconscious and bleeding from his head and face.
According to authorities, Chin’s Toyota Camry was stolen.
According to police, he was taken to the hospital and later died on Dec. 21st.
John Nusslein (18 years old) was taken into custody Jan. 14 and Nusslein (12 years old) was taken into police custody Feb. 3. Police said they were both facing murder, robbery and carjacking charges.
The third suspect, a 16 year-old boy, is still being sought by investigators. According to authorities, there is an arrest warrant. NBC News won’t name the boys, as they are minors.
This deadly carjacking occurred amid an increase in crime in Philadelphia. According to NBC Philadelphia , last week an Uber driver was killed trying to flee from a carjacking. The news station reported that a 60 year old man was killed in another carjacking earlier this month.
